Duelling Chefs to Dish Up Delicious Fundraising Dinners
Eleven of the top restaurants in Ottawa have accepted the challenge to participate in the Duelling Chefs competition, which aims to raise at least $40,000 for local charities. Juniper Kitchen and Wine Bar will play host for second edition of the series, starting in February and concluding next June.
On each night, each competing team will produce four courses, at least two of which must use an ingredient that will be identified just two days ahead of the competition.
"Our guests will dine well and do good at the same time," said Richard Nigro, Juniper's founding chef. "Each event will be a quality food experience, with top local chefs competing for bragging rights. The serving deadlines are very tight, and the secret ingredient adds the element of surprise."
Mayor Jim Watson will serve as the competition's honourary chair.
Jake and I will be attending:
April 18th: Ben Baird, Urban Pear
May 16th: Jonathan Korecki, Eighteen
Please come and join us for a great evening of fun as you get to decide which team will have bragging rights to best chef!

The event's official suppliers include Saslove's Meat Market, Gordon Food Service, Jost Kaufmann Seafood, Beau's All-Natural Brewing Company, Canadian Club, Mac Knife Canada and Fine Japanese Knives.
