Duelling Chefs to Dish Up Delicious Fundraising Dinners

Eleven of the top restaurants in Ottawa have accepted the challenge to participate in the Duelling Chefs competition, which aims to raise at least $40,000 for local charities. Juniper Kitchen and Wine Bar will play host for second edition of the series, starting in February and concluding next June.

On each night, each competing team will produce four courses, at least two of which must use an ingredient that will be identified just two days ahead of the competition.

"Our guests will dine well and do good at the same time," said Richard Nigro, Juniper's founding chef. "Each event will be a quality food experience, with top local chefs competing for bragging rights. The serving deadlines are very tight, and the secret ingredient adds the element of surprise."

Mayor Jim Watson will serve as the competition's honourary chair.
